Ladies Dinner May 9th at 6:00 p.m. Women of all ages are invited. The menu for the evening will be hot chicken salad, fruit, rolls and dessert. Younger children will have dinner and a craft time while the ladies have a devotion, games and door prizes. This promises to be an evening of fun and encouragement. Bring a friend and have a great time. If there is a need for childcare for mothers who would like to come but have sons and no one to care for them, please contact Liza Bigelow.

April 25 at 6:30 p.m. Women’s Ministries is coming alongside with the Heart to Heart ministry for this evening Join us as we learn to make a Jesus Memory Album and hear what Nina has to share. Be sure to invite a friend who has as an interest in scrapbooking!

Book Club meets the last Tuesday of odd months. The next meeting will be May 27th at 6:00 downstairs in Fellowship Hall. We are reading the book “Seaside” by Terri Blackstock. There are several copies in the church library. There is also a sign out sheet by the books, if you take one please jot down your name so we have an idea where the books are. If you love to read and talk about the books you have read, this is a great opportunity for you. We have had some very interesting talks about the books that we have read. It also is a good way to broaden what you read.

August 23, Women Ministries is having a clothing give away. Calvary has done this a few times in the past and found it to be a good way to reach out to the people of Warren. Marlene Johnson will be organizing this event and Women’s Ministries is so thankful that she has taken this project on. There will be plenty of opportunities to help out. You can start now by saving your clothes and we will let you know when they can be dropped of at the church.

July 18-19 There are 10 ladies who are planning on attending the Women of Faith Conference in Cleveland, Ohio this July. The tickets have been ordered and reservations for rooms have been made. This year we are happy to say that we are lower in the arena and the hotel is three blocks away from the arena. It helped to have the reservations made early.

September 26, 2008 is the date for the Women’s Ministries outreach event. This will be a dinner with Rena Smith speaking of removing the clutter from our homes and our lives. Rena married to the pastor of the First Baptist Church in Johnsonburg, PA. She has three grown girls and one granddaughter. She will be presenting the gospel that evening. This is an excellent time to reach out to your friends that you have been praying will come to know Jesus.

Plans are underway for the Fourth annual Disabilities Awareness Weekend, scheduled for April 25-26, 2008. This year’s guest speaker will be Nina Fuller, author of Special Strength for Special Parents. “Nina is a dynamic speaker with a personal pro-life message. Nina shares her passion for parenting through the story of how God raised her from a two-parent alcoholic heritage to become a committed Christian wife and mother. Nina is a gifted Bible teacher that will inspire you to search deeper into your own experiences and learn the depth of God’s character and intimate presence in your own life. Nina has generously offered to come to Warren by offering a special rate to our ministry. She feels God’s calling to come to share with parents of children with disabilities, family members supporting sick parents or spouses, people going through difficult times, and people searching God’s will in their lives. Please be in prayer for this weekend as Nina and the Heart-To-Heart ministry team plan a weekend for all members of Calvary Baptist Church and the Warren Community.
